Summer
is upon us and as well as being the time when we all like to relax with
friends and family, it is also the time of year when many Greens look forward to
meeting up with old and new friends at Green summer universities held
throughout Europe. This year is no exception and there is a wide range of
events to choose from.
This
year's edition of Euromediterranea will focus on the responsible and
sustainable use of the land and its resources. The opening will be held on July
1st, 2010 in Bolzano/Bozen when the International Alexander Langer award will
be presented to the Stava 1985 foundation. The following two days will be
dedicated to environmental issues and to the ethical topics in environmental
matters that Langer had dealt with. The festival will end on July 4th with an
excursion to Stava.

last year good experiences in Huesca, the II Summer University of the Spanish
Greens is moving. This year it will take place at a hostel from the Solidaire
and Alternative Economy Network (www.bei-tu.com) in Beire (
The
Seminars,
workshops and open sessions will encourage debates, information sharing and
training on issues of interest to all people close to green movements: Economy,
de-growth and the New Green Deal; health; North-South relationships; energy
policies; ecologic agriculture; eco-feminism; free software, etc.
The
core theme this year is “local green politics” and, thanks to the support of
the Green European Foundation (GEF), we will welcome participants and guest
from all

Party Against Oil Drilling (and subsequent a summer camp),
The
Norwegian environmentalist movement will gather for a party against oil
drilling in the unique and precious Lofoten / Vesterålen region, one of
Global Young Greens
During the Second Congress there will be training sessions, workshops,
open discussions and much more. But the internal organisation will also be
discussed: there will be a restructuring of the GYG and the election of a new
GYG Steering Committee. And of course there will be the opportunity to get to
know each other (better) by making a tour of the city of
Summer Days of Les Verts and Europe Ecologie
On
this years edition of the French summer days there will be plenary sessions,
discussion groups and workshops on a wide range of themes, so there is
something for everyone. There will also be room for side activities like for
example a biological wine degustation . All this in the 'ville de
l'art et d'histoire'

Ecological Summer Encounters,
The
Summer Encounters of this year will be even more intense. There are lots of
thematic training sessions that will run over two days, but there is also the 'tapas formula' and workshops on Saturday. You can
choose a longer training session or tapas for your Thursday and Friday and
workshops for your Saturday. The choice is yours! And of course there will be a
wide variety of side activities.
Groen! Summer Weekend,
Traditionally
the last weekend of August is the Groen! Summer Weekend which is held on the
Belgian coast. There will be a varied programme that you can choose from. Experts
from the scientific and cultural world will join us for debate and discussion. There
is a great emphasis on culture in the broadest sense. There is opportunity to
practice some sports, and of course, there is the notorious quiz!
